About the Team:

Our business development team is responsible for identifying new clients, leading the pursuit process from start to finish, and building trusted relationships along the way that enable long-term growth. This is not a typical lone-wolf BD role – collaboration, transparency, and decency are non-negotiable as you join this growing team.

You will help to drive, support, and often lead that process from start to finish. We’ll look to you to help us identify new clients and understand their needs. You will source opportunities, shape projects, write proposals and contracts, and work closely and collaboratively with creative and program leadership. This role is expected to have a macro view of the creative services space and regularly contribute to organizational marketing efforts, thought leadership, and events.

Roles & responsibilities: 

  • Identify, nurture, and source new client logos and project opportunities
  • Qualify leads, assess fit, and balance short-term margin vs. long-term growth opportunity 
  • Own the end-to-end BD process from deal identification through proposal/pitching and deal closure
  • Collaborate with discipline leads to develop winning proposals that demonstrate argo’s POV and address client's business needs
  • Deeply understand our work and approach, and use that understanding to shape our new client portfolio 
  • Ensure argo positioning is distinct amongst the competition and tailored to the needs of our clients
  • Support the continued growth of won accounts as needed
  • Support the authoring of case studies and thought leadership, representing the needs of prospective clients
  • Embody argo’s culture, values, working style, and effortless intelligence

About you:

  • You have 7+ years of business development experience in either a professional services consultancy or a client services role
  • Have a proven history of selling professional services or consulting to “most senior” stakeholders in design, innovation, and product. Props for selling Design to a CTO/CIO audience
  • A team player who is proactive, flexible, results-oriented, and comfortable in a rapidly changing environment
  • An extrovert who loves introverts; capable of drawing stories out of humble practitioners and representing our work in a compelling way
  • Truly believe in the power of “capital D” Design to drive measurable business outcomes
  • Have curiosity about what makes clients tick and bring passion/empathy for their business needs and individual goals
  • Compulsively organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
  • This can be a remote position. We have US studios in Austin, TX and Brooklyn, NY and would love to have a colleague in person, but are totally fine with remote for the right fit.
